Penn students thrive in a culture of openness and acceptance. Penn’s leadership, together with faculty, staff, student leaders, and mentors, do their best every day to provide the services students need.

Healthcare

Students can access medical services through the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, located adjacent to campus, and in our Student Health Center.

Mental health counseling services are available for all students. Culturally-focused counseling programs are also available. You can also visit Penn Wellness to learn more.

Safety & Security

Penn takes very seriously the safety of every student and security of all areas of campus. We have been ranked first for safety in the Higher Education Sector by Security Magazine for seven straight years. With a private police force and a 24-hour-a-day escort program for students, Penn is one of the nation’s safest campuses.

Student Disability Services

Penn’s Office of Student Disabilities Services provides assistance to students to ensure equality across all University programs and services. Housing, learning, way-finding, and transportation services are available.

Academic Advising & Support

Students who have questions about courses or life on campus are encouraged to seek guidance from our staff of advisors. Students have access to a wealth of advising resources, including a pre-major advisor, faculty within their major, and advisors that work with their respective undergraduate schools.

Diversity

Our community is an exceptional mix of cultural identities, socioeconomic backgrounds, religious beliefs, sexual orientations, and more. We embrace diversity in a way that enables students to be who they are and to learn and grow by interacting with others. Our on-campus cultural centers and clubs help students develop the tools and perspectives they need to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.

Spiritual & Religious Support Services

The Office of the Chaplain and the Spiritual and Religious Life Center (SPARC) are the central source for information about religious life on campus, local houses of worship, community service programming, the Religious Activities Common, and pastoral counseling.

There are a variety of faith-based and interfaith organizations on campus, each supporting the spiritual and religious needs of students from around the world. A list of student faith and fellowship organizations can be found on the website

LGBTQ Support Services

Penn’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Center supports Penn’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities through mentoring, workshops, advocacy, and special events.
